1. The Met Fifth Avenue

Younger and older kids alike enjoy a variety of special activities. Be sure to stop by the information desk to inquire about kids’ tours, and sketching or art projects you can have your kids participate in. Be sure to stop by the souvenir shop so kids can take a look at postcards of some of the artwork they saw.

2. Coney Island

For a true boardwalk experience, Coney Island, with its Nathan’s Famous, ice cream stands, giant beach, aquarium, and more than 50 rides and games is the perfect place for a fun day with the kids. While the Cyclone may be a bit hectic for some — it’s a historic 1927 roller coaster that gives you serious whiplash — there are plenty of other enjoyable thrill rides for the whole family. Recommendations: if you’re up for a walk or don’t mind a quick cab ride have lunch at L&B Spumoni Gardens nearby, home to homemade spumoni and the best Sicilian slice of your life.

3. Central Park

6. Molly’s Cupcakes

Not only does Molly’s have some of NYC’s most delicious homemade cupcakes, but you’ll have the option to choose a treat from the display case or craft your own creation. Our pick: the “Cookie Monster” featuring vanilla chocolate chip cake, a raw cookie dough center, buttercream frosting and a mini chocolate chip cookie topping. Savor your dessert while sitting on one of the counter-side swings and playing one of their myriad board games on offer.

Arts, culture, the great outdoors and even a bit of sports can all be incorporated into family vacations to New York City. When you bring the entire family to The Big Apple and utilize our guide to kid-friendly attractions, you’ll find an endless variety of things to do in Manhattan and beyond.
